Work Out Partners

Work Out Partners

I was wondering, out of all the times you may have made a fool of yourself, was it a time that you met someone special that led to something, special?

Doesn't it make all of those dating advice columns seem, pointless? Don't we met the one, when we least expect it after all?

I posted a comment on my Facebook page this morning that my friend is my favorite workout buddy because she's a kick ass athlete and doesn't take no for an answer. The truth is I really miss working out with her and with a partner, for that matter.

I'm able to hit the ground running at my gym without the help of a friend or a trainer that I paid too much for. I don’t need for them to show me how to lift or count sets; I just like to have a partner to lift with, especially to help push me to my maximum limit. Workout partners are a good idea in that they can spot our weight and encourage us to lift heavier; or to push us to run one more lap. Other times, working out alone is better because we can zone in and work as hard without the temptation of socializing with our partner. Usually, when I pick a partner, it’s someone that is either as experienced if not more advanced than me. I want someone who understands “my way of life.” I suggest that to anyone who would like to have a workout partner.

I've always considered getting my personal trainers certificate. However, it boiled down to the fact that I need my workout time without making it my job. Working out and healthy eating is my way of life, but, that doesn't mean I have to make a living out of it; and stress myself out dealing with the business end of it all. NOW, I know that I could do it and have a blast and become very successful at it, but, I don't want to do that, not now if ever.

What I do want to do is start a group; a group where I'll recruit anyone and everyone who loves to work out; whether it be weight lifting; swimming; running or playing a sport. I also want to promote healthier eating and I want to do this for the REAL GIRLS.

I love the athlete's that I once competed with, but, I want to help girls who are busy moms; employee's and people who just need a kick start with whatever exercise routine they want to do. I want to help girls whom never thought of a healthy meal plan.

I personally can help the skinny girl that suffers from bulimia and or anorexia. I can help girls eat good food; lift weight and not look fat or manly muscular. If she wants a good kick in the butt to help her lose weight, than, I’m here for her too! The second thing I'd to do as well is, let girls meet each other and they can mingle amongst themselves; they can swap ideas, recipes and motivational tricks.

So, how about it? I’ve got my work cut out for me, yes. Between writing my novels; working a day job; working out, I’m quit the busy gal! But, I want to do this. If you’re interested in participating in my new project, please let me know.

Happy Workout!

Flirty Workout

Flirty Workout

I saw a commercial on television for a new fitness video, it's called Flirty Girl Fitness. Now, I want to try something new to keep myself in shape and not have to spend a whole lot of cash. So this video seems like a fly idea. However, with youtube being so popular, it's hard to spend any money, when I can just watch something streaming, however, will that motivate me?

I have Carmen Electra's video and I've done it plenty of times, so I'm now bored with the routine. I have another video that I got for Christmas, a kickboxing workout and a step aerobics workout and I get bored with it, quickly. Maybe it is time for a switch.

I'm a huge fan of Dancing with the Stars and trust me when I say this, dancing is the best way to lose weight, on top of eating healthy and a variety of other exercises. The Biggest Loser, another favorite show of mine, provides a lot of support on their web site for great recipe idea's and work outs.

Last night, I made the commitment on Oprah.com, Jenny McCarthy's blog to give up drinking beer and eating any food with empty calories. Jenny McCarthy will blog daily to talk about her 30 day challenge, she gave up sugar and to stop eating after 7 PM.

It seems as though there are a lot of great incentive's stay motivated and on top of my game. Are you following any workout routine? Are you into the new pole dancing; belly dancing or sexy stripper workouts?

All or Nothing,

All or Nothing,

I love to work out; except I've become a victim. I was once part of amatuer fitness competitions, which means I fell off the normal, girl next door workout wagon to the obsessive freak who spent way too much time at the gym, eating so healthy that it became unhealthy (doctors do worry about the bodybuilder diets) and reading everything about a healthier lifestyle. I loved everything about bodybuilders and athletes and had a difficult time connecting with people that had never set foot in a gym.

One day I ran out of money and financial support toward my competitions and I had to walk away from my hobby. It was a hobby that was physically, emmotionally, mentally and financially demanding and it took me a long time to be comfortable with accepting that I was no longer a competitor.

The obsessiveness still lives inside of me today. If I can't train as hard as I once used to, I don't want to train at all. If I eat pizza or drink alcohol, what's the point of working out?

Moderation is hard for me to understand. I'm working on it. Just like I'm working on a stable schedule; but being unemployed makes stability impossible. The gym being 20 minutes away is also a crutch; I can't afford to pay for the gas to get me there...

I know I could work out at home, but the apartment is small and I feel cramped.

Listen to me, I'm whining. I hate when I do that.

Don't feel bad for me.  I just need to snap out of this, and force myself to understand that it doesn't have to be one extreme or the other and maybe, I'll find a schedule to follow if I stop obsessing. Right? Or wrong?
