Curt Schilling to Run for MA Senate Seat

Curt Schilling to Run for MA Senate Seat

Boston Globe columnist's Andrew Ryan and Milton J. Valencia report today that Curt Schilling, former Red Sox pitcher, has been contacted about a possible run for Senator Kennedy's seat in the U.S. Senate in Washington,DC.

Schilling, a Republican, stated that he probably will not run, but has not ruled out the possibility, he says, "I do have some interest in the possibility." He's not going to divulge the
discussions but he has been contacted by the people whose opinion he
gives credence to and listens to, and said, "I listened."

Schilling would not be the first baseball player to be in the
Senator's seat; former Major League pitcher, Jim Bunning, a Hall- of
-Famer who pitched for Detroit and Philadelphia is retiring from
senate seat after two years.

Charley Manning, a Republican political strategist and long time
friend of Mitt Romney said yesterday that the news of Schilling
running for Senate seat is "the most exciting part of the Senate race
so far," and also added, "I think it's time in which people have a
sort of soured on politics as usual; they are not happy about what's
going on in Washington right now and it's a perfect time for someone
who has been successful in other fields to bring that experience to
Washington and really change things."

Other rivals may include: former lieutenant governer Kerry Healey (R) and
Attorney General Martha Coakley.

Personally, I'd like see how Red Sox nation feels about this; will
they trust an all star Sox player, one of the members that brought the
2004 team out of their 86 year slump from winning a World Series to
best represent their State in the US Senate Seat in DC?

We'll soon find out!

An Amazing Leader Dies today:

An Amazing Leader Dies today:

The State of MA has lost an amazing Senator and leader today. Senator Edward (Ted) Kennedy passed away at the age of 77 last night. He suffered from a brain tumor which he announced he had in Spring of 2008.

He grew up as the youngest son in a large democrat family of 11 in MA, (Hyannis Port) his older brother, John F. Kennedy was our nations President whom was shot and killed in Texas in 1963; and his other brother, Robert was shot and killed in California in 1968 when he was elected the Democrat Presidential Elect (nominee).

In 1962, Ted Kennedy became the Senator of MA and has been serving the Sate since. He dedicated 47 years of his life as the Senator; that's leadership that can't be ignored. It's hard to deny that he didn't know his shit; or that he will be hard to replace. Granted. MA will have another Senator that'll probably be good for the State but no one will be able to lead as inspirationally as he did. You can't replace HIM, Senator Kennedy; he's a legacy.

The Kennedy family, loved by or most MA residents as well as New Englanders (for the most part) is the reason why I was turned on to Politic's in the first place. He worked hard to pass a health care bill for all Americans; he worked on Education for young children, special needs as well as many other humanaterian rights. He chose to fight for rights of the average person; the one's less fortunate; the poor and ignored.
